If the fleas have created an open wound in the dog, perhaps is better to wait and heal the wound before applying treatment.
Situations in which the dog has allergic reactions to his own hair are worse of all, since little can be done about it. Dogs suffering from this condition should be groomed often, brushed on a daily basis and taken to the veterinarian for regular checkups. In extreme cases, the vet may prescribe some sort of anti histamine in order to control the allergy attacks.
